More big girl stuff.......please queue the sappy music :)

So....last Thursday, something really awesome happened, and I didn't have time to blog about it. I had just finished giving Ellie her bath and she was standing outside the tub as I was drying her off......she then nonchalantly turned around, opened her potty and proceeded to go pee in it. Like a BIG GIRL! Let me preface this by saying that we had never really encouraged the potty much, it was there, more for looks and to stick toys in than for actual bodily functions. She sat in it sometimes when I went to the bathroom, but never showed much interest. The girl totally impressed me and I am pretty sure the neighbors two blocks away heard my loud cheers and high pitched excitement :) She did it again the next day after nap....but hasn't done it since. I am still a very proud momma.

Next challenge: how to get Ellie to understand that she only gets M&M's when she goes potty and not when I say "good job" to something LOL

Also on the "I am getting so big" developments, this past weekend, daddy painted our guest room and converted it into Ellie's new "big girl room". Yup, she is now going to have a twin size bed and everything. Hats off to my hubby for doing all the hard work by himself (I just moved over the clothes and bought all the accessories).  He knows better not to let me put together furniture.......(I was very close to ruining the storage unit we bought for Ellie's play room so I think I am now permanently banned from that. He's so good at everything I am not, and I love him bunches for it).

So anyhoo, here you have it, folks. Ellie's new room. I am still waiting on a wall decal to arrive and for some more bedding/curtain stuff.....but the price of pottery barn kids is really putting a dent in our pocket, so sheets and a quilt will do it for now. ha ha She hasn't slept in her room yet.....but we'll just play in there and read books at night until she is feeling more comfortable. Especially since we're going out of town this weekend and we'll be sleeping in different beds. I'll keep you posted on how the transition goes.

We are keeping Ellie's nursery the same for baby girl and hope to get that all the baby stuff out and organized this summer......I am sure the nesting will kick in high gear soon. Okay, who am I kidding? I am the most OCD organizer you'll ever meet, nesting or no nesting lol......I would do it tomorrow, but you know, I lent out all my new born clothes to my nieces so I probably won't have those back until July. AHAHAHAH I know, I have issues--the joy I got out of organizing all of Ellie's clothes in her new room, was pretty freakin' awesome. Okay, I'll stop making myself sound crazy now......CHEERS to cute girl's rooms and pretty little dresses hanging in closets!!!
